My dad said the same thing about his '70 Maverick. He has a standard manifold but does have a single inlet, dual outlet Flowmaster on his 200. It sounds pretty good.

A friend has a '71 Maverick with a 200 that is going to put a 302 in his. His car has a Clifford 6 into 2 header and complete dual exhaust with Flowmasters and chrome tips out the back.

His car sounds REALLY good! He said he would sell me the complete exhaust system when he pulls the 200 out. Here are a couple of pics of my dad's car.

There is nothing unique about an inline-6, and all the bolt-ons in the world won't make it powerful.

... every engine is unique in its potential max power delivery of HP and/vs Torque, and the inline Ford small block six is more than ready for some 'bolt-on' power to unleash the potential, it just takes a little more imagination and effort.

BTW check out the "Smithy" mufflers with dual out sixes, they eliminate the rasp off idle and effectively neuter the dreaded hi-way drone...

    have fun

The Ford six was designed/marketed to save gas. Add more cam and play with the advance curve and they will spank a lot of 302's on the street especially one that has too much cam or carburetor. There's a big difference between a 170/200 vs 250 when it comes to torque.

An inline six in our cars would sure make changing plugs a lot easier. I changed mine on my 302 two days ago, always a :badwords: pain!!!

Changing plugs on the 351W when I had it was easier than the 302. Due to additional deck height and header configuration I assume.
