Has anyone done the Borgeson integral steering with a column shift?

Their site says installs have been completed with a coupler...

Looking to see if anyone has tried this yet.

Borgeson offers an integral power steering conversion for your 1964-1977 Ford mid size. The Borgeson conversion box is a new manufactured modern integral power steering gearbox. The Borgeson integral power steering gearbox provides true modern power steering feel, feedback and a quick 14:1 ratio. Borgeson has manufactured this box to bolt directly to the factory mounting location and to fit the stock pitman arm. The column will need to be collapsed or shortened for clearance of conversion box. (Details below)

Cars with factory Bendix style power steering will require either manual steering linkage or a drag link adapter.

t cars have variations throughout the years. We have not done in house fitting on column shift cars. Installations have been completed using our #312500 coupler. This fits within the column tube and may leave room for the factory shift linkage.

worst case...you would have to go to floor shift.

I doubt the comment about the coupler has anything to do with the shift linkage, the factory steering setup has a coupler...

If I had to guess, I'd say no, ain't happnin'... As I understand the Borgerson conversion, the column must be shortened... My bet is the shift tube would require same, probably jams lever(s) into firewall...

Look up member Mojo, he's been through it. He could probably provide pictures that could answer your question.

I ended up cutting 2,75" from my column. The Borg box sits closer to the firewall, actually, rag joint hit the steering column floor plate; I had to remove a small amount metal from the plate. I don't know what the issues will be w/ column shift interfernce, if any.

Judging by what mine looks like I would say the shift linkage would be a no go.

Looking at ur picture, I most certainly agree . Don't see that workin w/ the col. shift. If not doing a total stock rebuild; I would go to floor shift conversion. If your car is fac. power, than rebuilding is another option. It all depends on how much you like have power steering. For me, manual steering not an option!

I have a Borgeson conversion on my car with a B&M floorshift. Well worth the money. I would say the column shift will not work unless you are VERY good at improvising.

Have you installed this unit? I have the Borg unit on my car now about 3 yrs. Are you using GM style pump or Ford type?

It’s installed but I have electrical issue, so not enough time with it. I’m using an aftermarket KRC pump. 7D97D571-1225-46D0-B5F3-B373C5E519D9.jpeg 7BEF8E07-C4AA-4021-9885-DC7F5C6D7C47.jpeg

Very nice setup! Not familiar w/ the KRC equipment, but, sure looks nice. Interested in seeing it all hooked on the car. It looks like ur using manual drag link; I am using power steer link w/ coupler -- no issues -- so far.
