Some came with the cable and others did not. I never saw a thread about adding a cable if it did not already have one.
Is that what someone did, add the cable?

I would like a cable, now that I have painted the trunk lid I don't want to scratch it laying the cap on it...LOL

I got the locking cap on my Maverick. I lay the gas cap with the key on the driver's seat while I'm pumping gas. This way I know I won't leave it behind when its time to drive off

I lay the cap along the driver's side of my back glass, face down, for the same reasons as Jeff. I used to set it on the pump, but I left it behind at least once like that. That said, I've been looking at installing a cable on my Deluxe cap, I see Scott Drake makes repop caps for Mustangs with the cable, so they might consider selling the cable and crimp kit?

I need to look into that as well. I've left a couple on the bumper or deck lid, and if you don't lose them, you bend them. Bruce, do you have a part# for the cap?

Best to lay it on the seat. If you don't see it...you will feel it :yikes:

I have a homemade gas cap lock so I have to open the trunk and that's were I put my gas cap, there's no way to drive away without it when it's in the trunk.

I can see cap being stolen and a cable would surely thwart that, but leaving cap on pump??

I'll put it this way, recently had to replace the original cap on my Cobra Jet as the rubber was crumbling...

I have added a cable to a cap, I had a cap that had the cable but display was cracked and yucky looking so I drilled the little rivets out and used some small screws and JB welded them back in, done the same thing to many grill emblems. You just have to make sure you do not drill too far . Drill press is needed though .

I open the trunk when I get gas. Put the cap in the trunk.
