Last time we had any posts from fuelish351 was 2016 the same year his Maverick got smacked and he was dealing with insurance companies. Hopefully he will post anew.

Well that sucks... I really hope he pops back up sometime soon. I'd love to ask a few questions on the build.

He may have sold the car as he was planning on moving to Oregon last year, I did see his car at the good guys car show this year in the auto cross event but did not recognize the driver, car screams with that turbo 4 banger

Im still here, still got the car. It is becoming the autmotive equivilant of a punching bag , got hit by a big rig tire little while back too. Pulled out the back with a chain and a pole, looks better. Still take it to Goodguys autocrosses when I can. Blew a head gasket about a month ago almost back together. Lean condition I think, head was not warped.

Don't be a stranger. I'm confident there is a lot of interest in your car with the hot 4 cylinder. How about posting the details and more photos in the Garage section of this site? Do you have any autocross videos? That would be sweet.

    Agreed.

I'm actually a pressurized, ½ motor fan myself. Had several Turbo Coupes, peppy but T-Birds are a bit on the portly side.

I had the very first Mustang SVO in New England. Ford Motor Company borrowed it for one day as they did not have enough inventory of SVOs at the time to use in driving demonstrations for dealership sales personnel . Ford had a number of professional drivers at the track that day. Lyn St. James was the professional driver assigned to my car.

Before I could get the SVO back, Ford had to do a complete brake, tire and fog lamp replacement. Lyn had spun the car into the track infield and damaged the fog lights. Regardless, I had a car that was once driven at speed by Lyn St. James. Very cool!!!

I have lots of stories about that car like blowing through a Connecticut state trooper's speed trap in 4th gear at 125mph on my way to Hartford . Route 84 that runs between Mass Pike and Harford is a big relatively flat open road. My radar detector just started screaming and I spotted the trooper parked in the heavily treed median strip. I looked at him as I blew by and he was definitely looking at me. He never even bothered to give chase. Besides, that little 4 cylinder 5 speed was just getting warmed up! In fact that SVO really didn't really get it's legs until about 60mph.

Thank God those crazy days are in my past.

BTW not trying to steal this thread. Just another story about a hot turbocharged Ford 4 cylinder with a 5 speed trany in a light car with wide Gatorback tires. Too fun!

I'd be more than happy to relive those experiences for you if I ever get around to getting the swap done. Working on the fuel system at the moment. My Mav fuel tank is shot. I've ordered the Spectra F30 fuel tank to replace it and plan to order a Universal in-tank fuel pump kit from Tank Inc. to drop in it before it goes it. For now I plan to run the stock 200/c4 to get it back on the road and road worthy, but this way I'll be prepared for when the swap comes to be.

It's tough trying to prepare the car for the build while simultaneously continue driving it so it doesn't just end up on blocks and abandoned like it seems every project does haha. I'm glad to see that the project will be fairly well accepted.

I recently attended a car show in the Black Hills of SD called "Kool Deadwood Nights". Some badass cars. Only saw 1 Mav. I'll attach a picture when I find it.

I'll be sure to take pictures as I continue progress with the car. A build thread is quite a long ways out, but hopefully when it comes time I have a long start into the project. Nothing worse than someone starting a build thread you're interested in and then it either dies or is so slow that it's painful to wait.
