Looks like I'm changing intake manifold gaskets this weekend. Found the reason for my bad idle.

Sounds good. Send us a reminder with the address as we get closer. I remember my first meet at a small stripmall, is that the place?

No it's a different place. The place you are thinking about is at Central and Camelback...Park Central is on Central Ave just north of Thomas Road...so just a bit south of the place you are thinking about.

Got it changed and still have a vacuum leak. Seams the intake is warped. Time for a new one. Only dual plane manifold I can find with the rear water crossover is the Weiand Stealth. I had one back in the day before the Torker 302 I have now. Seems Edelbrock still hasnt updated the Performer series to have the rear water passage. Im not about to block those off with the aluminum heads and let it start corroding back there.

Can the intake be machined to make it right?

My '70 had a weird vacuum leak. The accumulator canister (tin can) on the passenger side was rotted out on the bottom, top looked perfect looking down on it.

It could be machined Im sure. If its done right. I had one done a long time ago. Still never sealed. The cost of machining it is about half the cost to get a new one. my cost I can get one for $150, still just $200 retail new.

I have no vacuum canister on my car. I dont even have a single vacuum hose in the engine bay.

I drilled and tapped an Edelbrock to use A/N fittings and braided hose. Made the engine looks like a more serious race engine than it was LOL

That’s the same day as the hot rod swap meet at Glendale Community College I just realized.
