New Hoosier 275/60-15 drag radials. Jegs had a sale last week. Still need to move the springs inbd, get the perches welded on the 8.8, and nail down the correct offset. They look pretty big compared to the 245 bfg that’s on the car.
I ran 275's on mine for years also. It was super close all the way around but worked well at the track.
My plan is installing a narrowed Explorer 8.8 (I have one with 4:10’s) front 15x7 with 215/65, rear 15x8 with 275/60, rolling wheel lips as needed. I appreciate all the axle, tire & wheel information everyone has shared.
Keep in mind a DOT drag radial is a little larger dimension wise than what a typical street tire would be, So my set up is kind of a worst-case scenario. The section width on my tire is over 11 1/2 inches wide
Thanks for mentioning that, I thought your slicks looked bigger than the 275/60-15’s on the rear of my Mustang.
11.7” section width on a 10” rim, and 10” of tread. For reference a BFG T/A is 11” section width on an 8” rim, with 8.9” of tread.
