I installed the new Cold-Case aluminum radiator, the Cold-Case electric fan was a waste of money because 2500cfm is not enough to cool my 306. The temp was between 200 and 220 . I put my Flex-A-Lite back on which is 3300cfm and now the car Runs at 180 to 185 degrees. On to my next project.

What Flex-A-Lite you have putting out 3300? I have a Flex that puts out 2500 works ok until I run AC in 90+ weather or waiting for long trains w/ AC running at which point I see 220; I can tolerate that as long as I don't see radiator pucking.
I been thinking about a Taraus fan, but not really moved to do it yet.

Mojo look into the 90s Volvo fans. It’s the same fan just with out the bulky shroud. You can make your own shroud to fit it.

My alternator quit....so it is time for the 3g that has been sitting and waiting for just the right motivation. I am out of space on the battery side of the solenoid, so hunted the junkyard and came up with a part from a chevy truck of some sort.

    Good choice on the 3G.
Something like this maybe a better option.

This is what I run on my daily driver/plow truck and will be installing on the Comet too. FFDED2C6-5570-44C6-9A7C-4DF0A5B2AE60.jpeg

Wow. Those certainly carry the mail. The bracket on this Chevy one, with a little alteration, might might slip up behind the solenoid mount. It is starting to look fairly wire populated around there and I am gonna make it look less dense if I can. The next need for power might make me wish for that bus bar though. The Taurus fan conversion and point driven TFI ignition added, at least the 3g subtracts considering the voltage regulator gets to leave.

Thanks for the info on the Volvo fans. I will take a look at them; I can make a shroud, made one for the setup on the car now. I would have to reconfigure for the two speed fans which ever way I go. Just been lazy about the conversion and had the car on the road to much too really get in a rush to do it.

Everett, get the controller relay that works with the fan. That is what I have
Everett, find a 2spd relay for the fan when you get it. They look like this and this is one for a '95 model. Hope it works out.

    Hello all,

I just joined. Found this post and thought I would share what I did yester

This is my 74 comet I got. Sat in a field for 20 years. Got it running with help from my stepbrother.

Oil, coolant, trans fluid all changed, new belts, hoses, starter solenoid, distributor cap, plugs, wires, battery, and cables.

Carb needs gone through. Tires are being put on today. More cleaning to do, need to bleed the break lines. And a hell of a lot more, but she's alive
