Long time since I've been on here... Anyone got a passenger door they can part with or just a door skin? maybe a external rocker panel also? thanks.

I think it's been a while since I got on as well, so here is an update on my cars.

The 5.ol swap for the '75 hit a couple snags, so going to take the time on that to get it right. I had started up the 250 that was in the '70 but it sounded like a diesel, so not sure if a lifter is stuck or the engine is wasted so decided to throw the 200 taken out of '75 into it so I can drive it. Still waiting (Since Dec 2018) on the unisteer rack for the '75. Therefore, was hoping to have the '70 running for our next meet (December?). Once the '75 is up and running going to sell the '70.

Tried to hook up the transmission shift linkage, but need to find a lever that goes through the case that points down, the '75 is floor shift and the shifter shaft cant be rotated down as it hits the case. Grrr. One thing after another it seems. Atleast the 200 engine should run better in this car, found a vacuum leak source when I was taking it out. I guess as a last resort I can tear into the 250 and see if it is an easy fix, didn't want to invest a lot in something when I have a good engine sitting on the shop floor.

In my free time (when that ever happens) I might diagram all the parts going from one to the other and back again, and make it 3-d with the parts from donor vehicles. Enough to make you dizzy sometimes :dizzy:

Anyways, great weather up here in Show Low at the shop. Hope to get one of these back to Glendale in October or November.

They were great, so much better than what I had. Really put a little polish on that Mav, best looking part of the car so far. I tucked them about 2" over stock so I think that is a good look.

Will really pop once I get the body work done in a few years. Working the mechanical side first.

Starting in October I wont be working Saturday nights any longer. Who wants to plan a meet up ant the 67th ave and bell car show? Should we wait until November when it is a little cooler?

If I'm in town I'd be there.

Working on the cars this week up in Show Low. Tore down the 250 to see if it was salvageable, and it looks good except for the crank. Some prior work had already turned it down .010 on the journals. They must have had more issues, as the mains are grooved a little. More than a polish needed for those. The cylinders were already at .030, but the bores measured good. Not sure I want to be dropping money in a crank though, so may just be back to spending the time getting the 5.0l swap done for the '75, and will take apart the C4 for the shift lever I need on the '70.

Does anyone have a door panel off of an early car (1970 or so) that is loose, preferably just the backing card. I need to make a template for the holes that secure the panel to the door. I made up a couple of panels with 1/8" mdf that I will cover with some vinyl, but its pretty shaky getting the hole locations.

Huh...I have missed the last 6 posts or so...never got an email notified of new posts. Anyway it's that time to start thinking about a maverick get together. Who's in? Ryan is avail on Saturday nights...what about everyone else? What works better...a Saturday night or Sunday daytime?

I think I'm close to having a Mav back here in Glendale, probably in late October. Anytime after that as long as its not a holiday weekend and I'll be there. Either Sat or Sun works for me.

Things are good. Be working on the trucks more then the Maverick. Maybe because there isnt much to do to the maverick. Still out in goodyear?
