I'm lucky or unlucky. went to fire up my new EFI system and "no start". the diagnostic screen on my phone app shows "no fuel pressure". I can hear "pump running" in the tank. I "clamped off the return line" hit the key and no pressure reading. I"removed the line to the fuel rail" no fuel came out with pump running. the pump is controlled by the ECM so my Buddy suggested that "the ECM is bad" or not getting reading from fuel pressure sensor. I think it's good because it's turning the pump on. I'm draining the tank as we speak. I'm thinking the pickup tube on the intank pump has fallen off. that's the "bad luck" the "good luck" all this is happening with my car , in my shop, on my lift...not on the side of the road hundreds of miles from home...
If pump is running, isn't ECM at fault. Most likely problem in tank which isn't likely pump. I have seen one pump blow out the pressure port but still ran. All the problems you have make me look fondly at a old Holley carb & even a set of points.
pulled the pump today...it was bad. had ordered a new one just in case. have everything ready to go back together tomorrow...
Well then, I suppose straight, shiny, and rust free are happy car things.....hmmmmm, my car gets to live under a sheet of plastic all winter so I better shut up.
