Watched the whole thing ............ it is pretty cool. I wonder why Maverick was excluded from the 5/50 program?
There are several different ads like that on YouTube. Pretty cool even if it's just to see the specs on different models.
I was honestly surprised that Duster was a main competitor. Dusters are just bigger and they had a few sub-models.
Pretty cool ad, I remember my dad saying that he would never own maverick because it was to small, we had 8 in the family.
I bought a new 73 Galaxie LTD, would have never considered a Mav/Comet for my daily transport. It had bumpy ride, was too small for my needs. Now I only have it for a toy, and never need to transport anyone in rear seat, it's serves my needs.
The presentation was factual. My first new car was 70 Maverick with a 200 ci 6 and three on the column. Loved that car enough that later in life I owned a 1971 302 ci Maverick, a 1972 Comet and the 1973 I own today. Back in the day I had a friend with a 71 Duster automatic with the 225 slant six. That car blew me away in a street drag race. I loved the looks of the Duster and a few years later ended up buying a bright red 1971 with a 318 and a three speed floor shift as a second car (my other car was a 72 Vega GT. My only complaint was that the Duster had a lot of creaks and rattles. I was in the Army and short of money so I sold the Plymouth to my brother. The Duster certainly had a great deal more trunk space and back seat room.
