chasing down a fuel pressure situation, think it's a bad regulator.

Wooo hoo! Got the 5.0l HO EFI engine fired up for the first time. :bananaman:

Still have to set the timing once the sun drops behind a tree so I can see the marks. Next step is getting the painless harness, their fuse box and relays tucked up under the dash somewhere.

Just an FYI, their harness will work with a later model ECM, if you repin a few of the wires. I'll write that up if anyone is interested. The 94-95 computers are $80, the earlier ones they recommend (A9P, A9L) are now going for nearly $300.

I plan on running it, but if someone has had a bad experience with it and has a good suggestion as an alternative then I would like to know in advance, my ears are always open, just curiosity

Finished glueing the seals on the control box and did a test fit on the outside half of the plenum.

Spent the day replacing the driver-side upper control arm today. The spring was 85 percent of the effort and 100 percent of the aggravation. I said more bad words in six hours than I have in the last three months. We’ll see what tomorrow holds for the passenger side.

Primed and painted the rusty retaining ring for the fan assembly. Transferred the control box to the plenum half still bolted to the firewall, then added the heater core ( no photo). I took two photos to show the function of the flapper inside the control box. In the first photo you can see inside the box, in the second the flapper is swung, closing off the door and opening the door on the back side. I then mounted the front side of the plenum. Hard to describe but I had to “ shoe horn “ the curved portion of the plenum into the foam ring sealing the round cowl duct. Used a flat plastic tool for that. Have not yet put on the clips. So far it seems it’s going to be hard to compress the font piece enough to get the the clips on. I’ll try later this morning.

I am still waiting to put my clips on as I am afraid of the plastic housing breaking since it's so old.

I caught alot of crap too putting springs back in. What helped a bunch for me is to just cut a coil.
I was already sitting high so i gambled and cut. Turned out good.
What compressor are you using? My autozone pressor that i rented would mot compress enough. Nut bottomed out or something. Please be careful!

When I was replacing my front end, the springs were the biggest pain in the a**. I will attach a screenshot of the tool I used. I put the hooks of the tool down through the shock tower and grabbed the spring on the inside and used the fork on top of the tower to compress the springs enough. Gets a little hairy feeling but ended up having no issues. Definitely be careful no matter which route you use.
