Larry, Thanks for providing a top-notch reproduction part to our hobby! The fact that the OEM lid fits so perfectly and with ease, demonstrates how much effort you put into this part. I have put a lot of time and money into detailing my engine compartment to have it look as factory-fresh as possible and at the end of the day, $95 isn't going to prevent me from meeting my goal. The washer jug I had was a huge sore point for me, until I installed your part. Yes, it's unfortunate that there are no reproduction lids to compliment your jug, but I also understand that in this hobby (especially with Mavericks/Comets) you take the win when you can. Purchasing your BRAND NEW part is no-brainer, especially compared to a 45 year-old NOS part @ $400... And I haven't seen a usable Maverick/Comet in a junkyard in this area for 20 years, so buying a $5 "decent" reservoir and cleaning it up isn't an option here.
thanks to all for the kind words, the lid alot of times is still in good shape (unless baked in the sun) and with some elbow grease can be brought back to near mint shape and as I stated earlier I can heat seal a new screen (will try to post photos) making the lid would be as or more costly than the reservoir and then if you would want the ford logo that is a new can of worms. I guess I am lucky as I have a few junkyards I visit, one has about 50 mavericks/comets-fairly picked over but still alot left and the other about a dozen that have not been touched. I need to start looking harder as to what is needed off these cars
there is one in jefferson, Ed Luckes have not been there in quite awhile though, the other one is not open to the public,it is just someones field. If you go to Luckes better to go now before the vegetation grows or you will need a machette
These reproductions look nice and will make my wish list, thanks! Here is the option I chose until I can get this new reproduction, paint:
There are a few more parts available for this washer fluid reservoir that I just purchased both via Amazon but they came from different sellers: ANCO Part Number 62-01 Windshield Washer Pump - This is a direct replacement washer pump that includes the metal retainer and has the impeller wheel already installed. Price was $15.22 + Says made in Taiwan. Windshield Washer Pump Harness Connector - This is a pigtail assembly that fits into the ANCO pump. Manufactured by Clipsandfasteners Inc. 4.99 + The wiring harness came from a company CLIPSANDFASTENERS.COM out of Anaheim CA. But it looks like it was made by Au-Ve-Co products www.auveco.com from Cold Spring KY. So its Au-Ve-Co Part number 17621. It has a rubber water seal at the electric connector and the wire pigtail is 7". It says it fits pumps: E0AZ-17664-A & E3OZ-17664-A Plug fits into the pump securely, both lock tabs engage. Time will tell if it lasts.
So the pump is installed and pigtail is wired in. Heres a pic of my boring washer fluid reservoir. Looking above at SCS pic, I like the painted look of the reservoir and how the harness and washer hose are routed in the wheelwell. that really cleans up the engine compartment. Hmmmm.
