my new sending unit came with 3 float arms...:yup:

    A-is for a 16 gal. tank...7 " deep
    B-is for a 20 gal. tank...8" deep.
    C-is for a 22 gal. tank...9 3/4" deep

    my question is...
if I use the A (16 gal) arm in a 20 gal tank will the gauge read empty before it gets empty?

    ...:bouncy:...

Would it depend on the depth of the tank, in theory it should read empty before it gets empty. If it were me I would use A as I would much rather have gas in tank then let it get empty

Considering these go in from the side on the lower part of the tank, I would suspect it would read full till you burn some gas down a little, so I would think that you would lose the ability to monitor the top end of the usage on the tank.

Do you have a link to the fuel tank sending unit you purchased?

I have a 1966 Mustang sending unit in my car now. I saw this last night on the Summit website so I went today and bought it. it looks like it will work well with my Pro Flow 4 multi port EFI system. I mocked it up today and it will fit perfect. as stated it comes with 3 different float arms. so now I'm trying to decide what one will give me a little extra gas at the empty reading on my Dakota Digital fuel gauge. if it works this should make EFI swaps a littler easier for the Mav/Comet world.

as long as it reads right on the empty end all will be good. my new truck reads full for the first 150 miles from a fillup...:thumbs2:

looking further I see the Maverick tank I have is 10 1/8" deep. so maybe the 20 gal. arm B would leave a couple of inches of gas...

I went with the A-16 gal float arm. put 5 gals in the tank and gauge read...25%.
    I'll know more after I drive it...:chirp:

the e-pump/sender came with a 4 wire pigtail 2 of them were for the fuel gauge.
today I took the plug from an old sending unit and made a plug to use with the new sender.
I soldered a connector to each post to be able to connect it to the stock sending unit plug.
now need to wire the fuel pump to the relay and...:drive:...:chirp:

don't like the ...16 gal. arm...it went from 15% t0 1% in about 3 miles. I drained the tank and it still had 2 gals. in it. it just moves a little fast for me...LOL
I'll install the 20 gal. arm later.
