Ok so after being super frustrated with burning up wires and fighting headers over and over, i cut the towers. I ended up breaking my friends welder and bought one. Stupid gt40p heads.
I've put to much time into them to give up now.
Anyways, i am wondering if i cut enough and if anyone has any advice?
Also, i am tried to put a new piece of steel where the battery was, but the welder is cutting through the metal still on the car?
Did i mention i suck at welding?

Looks like you maxed out your space. Once you've got it all finish ground and finished it should look great.

Only thing you could have done extra was curve the cut outward under the top to give maybe another inch of room. This is what I did to my 77. I'm assuming the black painted engine bay in your pics is not yours ? The white one is ? If so it's not much better/worse than mine turned out.

Yeah, the pic with black paint is what I was going for. I'm hoping to have some time this weekend to finally put the motor back in. Thanks for the feedback.
