I bought some 05 Mustang GT rims on Sunday. They are 17x8 with 235/55/17 tires on them. The tires are shot and I'll have to replace them at some point. Should I go with the same size tire or go with a different size? My next question is for spacers, what size should I get? 1.5" 1.75" or 2"??

I will be running 1 1/2" spacers on mine, and the front could be 1/4" larger to clear the upper ball joint.

forgot to mention, the pics above are my last mav, but my new one will have the same wheels, but with the silver center, and I will probably run the stock mustang tire size.

So should I go with 1.5" or just 2"?

If you are looking for some spacers I have a set of 2" and a set of 1 1/2 billet spacers

I'd go with 1.75" spacers, that way you will have the clearance needed.

    Hello,

May I ask the exact sizes for the spacer you used for this Maverick? I’m planning on using mustang wheels on mine. Thank you

The post right before yours (see below) he gave his recommendation. Looks like 1.75 is the magic number.

Yeah I saw that, but I think this was a response to the OP’s original question, not the actual measure of the sapcers on his blue Maverick

Reading into what he said, I would bet he ran the 1 1/2 and was recommending the 1 3/4 for some additional clearance. It's all a guessing game at this point, he sold his Maverick and hasn't been on since. I know on mine a 1" spacer works but the tie rod is close enough to the wheel it hits the wheel weights. I have 18 x 9 on the front but I also have drop spindles. Once it's time to go back together I will get either 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 spacers.

yeah you’re probably right, 1.5 on the back 1.75 on the front it is. Iwonder what wheel size did he use?
