    Hey guys,
I have a 1971 Comet and I really like the dash design except that it doesn't have a glove box. I know the 1974 and up Mavericks and Comets have a glove box. My question is this. Are they bolt in from one year to the other? How about dash pads? My pad is decent and if it fits the later dash design, I'll use it.
I'm also wondering if aftermarket gauges can be adapted to the stock plastic gauge bezel. Any ideas?
    Thanks, I appreciate any help.

Very nice, Frank. Did you specifically design them or are they something in Dakota Digital's standard catalog? I'm guessing these are the standard 3 3/8" size. How did you secure them into the cluster before putting the bezel on top?

The 1973-1977 lower glove box assembly will bolt onto your 1970-1973 dash if you get all the correct parts.

All dash pads are the same.

Thanks for the info, Craig. Do you have a complete dash assembly for sale? PM me the price and condition and how much to ship to 85032 zip code. Thanks.

There was an aftermarket metal glove box door made for these cars. But they are insanely rare to find. Awhile back a member made some of them. Send me a PM. I have an extra one that I would sell.

    Hello William623,
Thanks for the reply. This would seem to be a much easier option than swapping out an entire dash. I'm very interested.
A couple of questions...is the door lockable? Is it easy to install?
I wasn't able to figure out how to PM you. Maybe you could PM me your email address, how much you want for it with shipping to zip code 80532, and your preferred payment method.
BTW, how do I PM someone on this forum, for future reference?
Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Hello Fastcarz,
Thanks for the thread link. Very helpful and interesting as well. I think I'll go with the reproduction aftermarket door assembly that William623 has for sale.

    Hi Craig,
Thanks for your reply. I've been on your website and have contacted you personally. I appreciate your quick replies. You seem to have everything I'll need and your prices are very fair. The knowledge you have is also very much appreciated.
As soon as I get a full "want list" together, I'll contact you to purchase whatever you have, which I'm sure you'll have it all!

I just pulled the lower dash off and replaced it with the early tray.

It took awhile to get it... It’s nice quality though! They are going to get mine that I bought from him as I ended up finding an original one.
