I just added a 74 Maverick V8 basket case and a stripped 77 Comet GT. To my collection.

    I guess that makes.. 2251?

That number is but a fraction of the remaining cars scattered around the country.

In the 17 years since beginning this thread, 2255 is probably 20-30% high. No doubt many of the parts cars no longer exist and "runners" parted as well. Many nicer cars resold & new owner regestered it again. I can't remember if I added my parts Comet, was in poor enough condition that no doubt going for scrap.

I bought a 1973 4 door Maverick with 28,000 miles on it. It is sun burnt but other than that in amazing condition. For Christmas I asked Santa for all new shocks and a rear stabilizer bar. Apparently if I am a good boy I will get them. So far I have bought seat covers for the seats, buffed up the paint, did an oil change, new plugs and new coil. Tomorrow if it is sunny and plus 7 degrees it will get a quick wash and covered with a car cover for the winter.

Totally unrelated but thought I would post this here to keep the string alive. :D I took the Maverick to the Turkey Run in Daytona, over 5,000 cars this year and it was amazing as always. I normally walk for two days and don't find any Mavericks, but this year I saw 3. One in particular was pretty cool, it was a 1970 which was basically turned into a dragster. Coyote motor getting 1324 horsepower, and I'm going to see him race it in Bradenton in January. Same guy's son had a really clean little 73, cream colored all original with a 250/6, car actually came from Puerto Rico and still had the original stickers in Spanish. Still looking for other Maverick owners in FL/GA who would be interested in organizing a small meet some day, seems like the good ones are either in PA or KY.

I think we should be able to round up a few guys. I know probably 7-8 maverick guys who would come. Maybe in the spring we could do something.
