Hi everyone, I'm getting ready to pull my 250 out of my 73 Comet. I've probably asked about this before but it's been awhile. Are the brackets mounted one in front of the engine and the one in the rear with the obvious holes in them to lift the engine strong enough? I'm assuming that's why they are there, but made pretty thin, also the bolts aren't too long that mount them. Was going to pull engine and trans together so concerned about weight. Thank you everyone.
... the OEM lift brackets if still intact offer best lift ppoints. If no brackets, bolts into same locations should do it. The length of the 250 makes removal need to be almost vertical, removing belhouse will help and keep the leveling crank handle available in front. I had to lengthen my engine hoist boom to reach way over 76 Comet 'big bumpers' and front fascia to middle of the 250. have fun (carefully) . . . .
Thank you! Wow, Powerband, I really like that build you got going there, that black engine looks awesome! Was inquiring about doing my six by getting the Vintage Inline head, but can't even order right now. Might just go with a v8.
that black engine looks awesome! "there's no replacement for displacement" WRONG ! (just add boost... ) . have fun
Hey Powerband I'd love to know more about your build? Also when pulled your six out what did you do with the linkage where it hooks to the column or trans? Pull out with trans or not? Was mulling that over today. Thanks.
