I purchased an extra set of Brake/Clutch Pedals from William (William623) and the Clutch Pedal is slightly different, apparently 69.5 early 70 are different than later years. Here are few pictures, so if someone has a set of 69.5 that they can compare with and/or post pictures would be much appreciated! I will attach some notes below each picture, thanks in advance!

I think I may have figured out what set it was from, 69-70 Mustang/Cougar, but William will check all his sets when gets back to FL in May for a few days............

P1020151.JPG On the Right is Clutch pedal from at least 73 and later, on Left is Clutch Pedal from??? notice the shape/size of pedal pad, shape of arm and where push rod attaches......

P1020152.JPG top is 73 later, notice bracket where assist spring/pedal stop, backwards........

P1020153.JPG with Clutch Pedal from? installed on Mav/Comet Pedal Support Bracket, pedal stop is against the bottom of the support bracket, compared with known Mav Clutch pedal, it is in the exact same alignment/travel

P1020154.JPG view of pedal stop against bottom of support bracket, can see where the 73 later stop is on the left with rubber bumper.

last 2 pictures of Clutch Pedal in question.........

William sent me pictures of this set from 71 Comet, but it was missing assist spring and its bracket that attaches to side of support bracket, so we are wondering if this could be from early Mustang. I have check pictures of them, but again they are slightly different........

Your mystery pedal looks like a 1970 Mustang clutch pedal. - Matt

    Hi Matt:
Yes, after doing some searching and comparing, found it to be from 69 Mustang, 70 has a couple of slight differences, but that could be from various manufacturers at the time. Also brake pedal used a separate mounting location on the Mustang, than the clutch pedal! Funny though, it worked fine according to guy who drove the 71 Comet that William623 parted out! I did a static mock up and compared with my OEM Mav/Comet pedals and alignment/travel was exactly the same! The only thing was you could not install assist spring, so I do not know how much more effort was required by the driver to depress the clutch? As for the pedal stop, it actually used the bottom of the pedal support bracket! Again, alignment was same as OEM, I suppose if someone went to a hydraulic throwout set up, these 69/70 brake/clutch pedals would be fine, as you would not require assist spring. As for location of hole in clutch arm for rod to z-bar, one might have to add a spacer or play around?

I didn’t use the assist spring in my 71 Comet when I converted it. I do go with the hydraulic clutch kit. Pedal effort is light and doesn’t wear your leg out.
