I want to check the fast idle throttle plate clearance on my RBS-1V carb. My Chiltons manual says the clearance specs are: 0.040" for a DOZF-C 0.046 for a DOZF-D These are the only two ID tags listed. This is an older manual and my '74 Carb ID tag has the following information: D4DE AAA A3 K 16 I have a Detroit Iron shop manual on CD but it does not have any carb specs listed. Does anyone have any technical cross references? Or should I just go with one of the two gaps listed in my Chiltons manual. Thanks.
I think I may have found a solution. Just watched a good utube video on RBS-1V adjustments. He just screwed in the fast idle screw until it just touches the 2nd step of the fast idle cam. That automatically sets it correct for the 1st step (fully choked). I tried it and now it runs great. Thanks but if you have that spec I will write it in my Chiltons manual.
