    Took lil greenie for a test drive today.
    Before the shift linkage bushing decided to end the journey. I had my fuel pickup self destruct. I had a new one on hand it was to be next mission. Fate sped up the process. Here is a pic of old one.
    Look close at float or sink as it is called in its condition. 20210327_185549.jpg

    I would say you probably had an empty tank all the time according to gauge
