I picked up a fox body t5 transmission tunnel for $40, I’m thinking it may come in handy when putting the t5 in my 75 Comet.

I just did this swap with a 347 and T5 and all i did is remove some of the brace in top of tunnel and used a trans mount kit from Frank. no vibration up to 100 but have to put caltracs due to more HP and axle wrap.

... remove some of the brace in top of tunnel and used a trans mount kit..

    .... interested:

How much of of crossmember brace was removed and was it replaced?

Did rear axle require shims to correct pinion angle, if so to what degree?.

Does the' trans mount kit' replace or re-enforce the OEM crossmember that was removed/cut out?

    Any pics would be appreciated.

    Hav E fun

halfway back the tunnel there was a welded reinforcement that I removed the center of to make hump flat and make room for top of T5. The cross member kit replaced the original one. when I installed the engine and trans I jacked the rear of the trans up till it hit the floor and lowered it slightly, this put me about 1/8 inch lower that what c-4 was. installed a drive shaft 1 inch shorter and used no shims.
