I am getting ready to install my gear vendors overdrive, knowing the amount to remove from driveline would really help if anyone has theirs finished.

Were you satisfied with the unit when it was installed? Neat way to add overdrive but it seems the majority on here go the AOD route. Poking around on google it seems there's more talk about the GV units than people actually using them with C4's.

I had no problems with it. I just like change.
    started with ...C4...full race C4...AOD...full race w/trans brake...built 700R4.
    started with...250...hopped up 250...302...306...347...LS.
I think Lee has it behind a big block.

351 stroker (411 or 421, something like that) IIRC.

Thanks for the responses - I always want to be learning something new from the members on here as there always seems to be an alternative approach to modifying these cars.

Yes, I have the GC on a C4 behand a 421 Windsor. It is a great little sleeper. I went with the GV because I had a lot of money already invested in the C4 and Frank gave me a good price on the GV. It has been pretty much trouble free. I did have to replace the governor for about $35. I don't know how much the driveshaft was shortened since Frank had it done already. I can measure it when I get home from vacation at Myrtle Beach on May 9th. E-mail me at mirichart@aol.com then if you still need the info. By the way, my son has 73 Comet with a built 302 and a beefed up AOD which is also a very nice combination. It's mostly a matter of preference. Of course I have 6 speeds and he only has 4.
