How many people have bashed their head open on the hood latch?

  1. No, I am careful and coordinated enough to avoid that latch

    Thought this would be funny.
My maverick seems to be the only car I have ever owned to consistently give me this problem.
How many people have bumped/smashed/rammed their heads into the hood latch coming off of the bottom front of the hood. No matter how many years I own this car, I still constistently smash my head into it every time the hood opens...Of course with a huge yelling $%#& #$%!

with the hood latch and the center beam in my shed I constantly have a cut in my head. I need to remeber to where a hat so I don't get cut, then I only get pissed that I forgot about the latch when I hit it again.

LMAO!! OH that's funny. I haven't hit my head on the latch yet, but my head gets into a fender bender with my shed a lot. I also hit my head on my canopy going back and forth from the garage to my car.

Can't say I ever smacked my head on the hood latch yet. I'm 5'4" so when the hood is up it clears the top of my head. I guess I'm lucky in that respect but other than that, being short sucks!

yes, you are lucky you are short. it seems that ecerything is made for people 6 foot and shorrter. And if you are three inches taller than that you are doomed to hit your head on everything.

Never been hit by my mav, but I seem to find that overhead shelve quite often. :(

I had that problem too for the longest. It doesn't help that I'm 6' 4", but we found a fix for it. We drilled a hole further back on the hood for the hood prop rod to go into, which raises the hood further and out of the way.

Damn, why didn't I think of that. that's a good idea. But now i am going to forget all about it and when I hook up my battery charger to the mav in a couple days I am going to hit my head on the latch.

I'm 6'6", I hit the latch once many decades ago. After that I learned not to do that.
