Where can I get a 2-groove pulley for my water pump. 73 Mav 302. I've seen them for a 289. Not sure if that'll work.

289 pulley should work. Usually only pulleys for standard rotation and reverse rotation pumps have different hole locations. I ran '66 289 pulleys on my 302's until I went serpentine a few years ago.

You are looking for a 2 groove pulley for the crank/damper, I think water pump pulley are only single groove, also if you have a 302, then you will need a 4 bolt pulley (unless it is an early 302 pre-1969), 289 pulleys are all 3 bolt and will not bolt onto 4 bolt 302.........

Ah, a crank pulley. If he needs a crank pulley and can't find one for a 302 he can use a 289 piece and drill 3 new holes in it. The center hub that locates the pulley on the damper is the same. Been there, done that. Might even have my old one around here somewhere.

Dual water pump pulleys were common on '67-'69 289, 302, 351 & 390 engines, have same depth as '70-up. Diameter can vary. FairlanePS1020 006.JPG

Never knew that there was a 2 groove water pump pulley, personally I would stay with single groove water pump and go with 2 groove crank/damper, less stress on the water pump bearing JMO...........

My 428 had a three groove water pump pulley, a outermost drove the smog pump. Ditched pump a couple weeks after I bought car(1973). Later, cut smog pump mounting ear from alt bracket & installed two groove from a 390. It uses two alt belts, P/S is driven directly from crank.
