Hello everyone! I'm here to obtain your wisdom and opinions. I've been poking around at intake mods for the lousy log intake on the 250 i6. I stumbled upon this on Speedway Motors, and wondered if this would be a good upgrade to the stock 1v setup

    https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Offe...zS2ep_H8rPkQPSJ8Nk_EKaM-rE0PQi0caAhLMEALw_wcB

In your guys' opinion, do you think this would be a good upgrade? What about power and fuel economy? Would the three carburetors clear the hood? I'm considering purchasing this for my '74 Maverick, and I'd like to get some opinions from people who are a lot more educated in this field, thanks!

I have no idea other than it's made for three single barrel carbs not three two barrel's. But it would look cool and probably be better performance wise.

I ran a 390cfm Holly & Hooker super comp header w/dual Flow Masters on a 81 F150 (300ci) back in the day, it really put some pep in the old girls step

looks like it will still need some more engineering...may not be worth the time, money and effort for the gain. also more motor mods will be needed to have them perform as designed (bore ,cam, valves, exhaust etc, etc)...JMO

Yeah, I don't like the idea of filing down the top of the intake (not that it's super difficult or anything, I'm just too lazy :D). It looks like it uses the top of the log intake for the bottom......

Besides the far as I know, unavailable, aluminum head for the Thriftpower sixes, is there any other way for a slight enhancement over the 1v without spending $1500+? I plan on making this a daily driver, fuel efficient, yet somewhat peppy car, not a hot rod (although the idea of a hot 302 and AOD has rolled in my mind before). Thanks!

I’ve seen 2 barrel carbs on them but have no idea how they accomplished it.

If I remember right, there were heads in the land down under with a 2v intake casted into them, but good luck finding one....

The car as of now has a 2.79, I'm afraid of going too high, since I'm using a C4. I've been around a 390 with a C6 and 3.25 (I know, 390s gonna be a gas guzzler anyways) and going 65 sets it relatively high.....IMO. The truck doesn't have a tach, so I couldn't tell you the exact RPMs, but dead stop to WOT =:chirp:

One things for sure, 3.55+ is out of the picture.....for now.

I'm assuming the gas mileage from the stock gear dipped a little, but after all, you gotta pay to play. Do you remember what you were getting off the top of your head?

Gears, headers, and nitrous oxide for certain "passing situations".

How far can you stretch "certain passing situations"?;)
