i ran across a guy who has a driver side exhaust manifold from a granda 351w and it is shaped a lot like the factory maverick 302 manifold but the exit and ports looks like ei might breath better ,just curious to know if anyone has ever tried granada 351w manifolds in a maverick

If you really want it to breathe better ditch the factory cast manifolds altogether. It will bolt on of course but any gain will be imperceptable.

yes i was afraid someone was gonna tell me the ditch the manifolds but all I wanted this thread to be was to find out if the 351w granada manifold would fit in out cars,if I can get my hands on this manifold someone might need or want it,not everyone wants headers

I'm pretty sure that Maverick exhaust manifolds are specific to Mavericks/Comets. The Granada manifolds will certainly fit the engine, but I believe the angle for the down-pipes is wrong for the Maverick. It would definitely be a gamble as to whether or not you can make them work...

the angle on the outlet comes out just the same as the maverick manifold only difference I see is that the manifold is thicker and the runners seem a bit wider

I guess if it clears the steering box and everything, it would work. What about the passenger side?...

AFAIK most if not all the driver side 351 manifolds are shaped similar to the Maverick/Comet 302. Fairlane, Torino, Falcon ect 289/302 driver manifold exit is above shift linkage, 351 below.

Eons ago I swapped a '69 Torino FMX trans into a 289 '67 Falcon, found trans linkage & exhaust would not play nice. Wound up swapping Torino 351, FMX, exhaust pipe, column & all the linkage into Falcon. As a complete unit was a direct swap.

All this said, I dunno if any 351 manifolds can be used in Mav/Comet.

Only way to know for sure -- If you have the manifold "Try it, and end the suspense!

i will say i have never seen another driver side manifold like this one before but like I said it came off of a 75 granada that had a 351w the outlet on this one is exiting the exact way the mav manifold does its just a little thicker manifold. i have a driver side 351w that came off of a torino and it exits below like you said. i think I will get it even if I make wall art out of it

Well it "sounds" like it will work, but what is the point of having mis-matched exhaust manifolds? According to your description, the driver-side would be more free-flowing than the passenger side. Maybe I've missed something (wouldn't be the first time)...
