    Hello,

I feel like I am missing something here. I am in the middle of trying to get rid of my power steering leaks and I am going to order new lines. The back of my power steering pump has a nipple style fitting and from my understanding the high pressure line is a 2 pice line:
POWER STEERING PRESSURE HOSE 1970-74 FORD MAVERICK 1971-74 MERCURY COMET 302 8-CYL FROM PUMP 22-INCHES LONG (618)
    and
PRESSURE HOSE POWER STEERING 1969-70 FORD MUSTANG COUGAR 1970 FAIRLANE FALCON 1970-71 TORINO RANCHERO FROM PUMP (636)

The line that goes to the back of the pump though has a male fitting while my pump needs a female. Am I looking at the wrong lines or do I need some type of adapter fitting?

I have attached a photo of what the fitting looks like just for clarification.
    Thanks

Right behind my power steering pump is pretty tight. I do not think that straight piece coming off the female fitting would clear the tower.the current line in it has a bend right off the pump. Do you mind me asking what pump yours has? I got this pump from a 68 mustang I believe.

Pump on mine is a replacement Cardone. Regardless of use, outlet is same through '75, changed in '76.

You are correct, hoses pictured are not going to fit. They are showing the '76- newer hoses.:eek: I should have looked a bit closer.

Look at hoses for '69 Fairlane, the ones shown for pump have correct 90+* bend. In actuality I think hose(s) on my '69 Fairlane & Comet are same ones. Both have the two piece pressure hoses, angle forward to clear oil filter. .

Yup, the hose connecting the control valve end is the same part number as that for the maverick and fairline. I am going to go ahead and order the one for the airline for the pump end and then the other for the control valve end so tis 2 pieces. Thanks for the help, I saw your photos of your power steering lines in a previous post and that is what raised concern for me haha.
