It's that time of year again and the Maverick Comet Club International MCCI is having a mini meet in Geneva-on-the-Lake, Ohio. Last years event did not take place due to COVID-19 issues. All Maverick and Comet owners and their cars are welcome including you trailered full race guys!!! In the last couple of years we have had close to twenty Mavericks, Comets and their owners plus the Pinto/Bobcat crowd. You can attend even if you are not a member of MCCI or live in the state of Ohio. We have previously had members from Michigan, Pennsylvania and Indiana in attendance. Consider joining MCCI while you are there, membership gives you access to MCCI's great monthly e-mail communication e-horns and the bi-monthly publication Shorthorns. They keep you up-to-date on things Maverick and Comet. You might want to checkout our clubs website for outing details and club membership. Hope to see you there!!! We recently joined the MCCI and we are planning on attending the Ohio mini meet. I have seen two versions of the flyer for the event, one shows a Friday cruise night in Painesville and the other says Friday cruise on the strip in Geneva on the lake. Do you know which one is the current plan? We don't want to show up at the wrong place and miss out on the friday cruise in. Thanks! We are excited to bring our Comet to the meet.
77cometI6 welcome to MCCI, The information using the "Event Information Link:" I provided above will take you to the Official MCCI website and the correct flyer. The Painesville Cruise-in will begin Friday night at 5:00pm. The Saturday caravan will begin at Chops Grille and Taphouse parking lot, Geniva at 10:00am. Don't be late or you will miss it. See you there!
Ill be there, sans Maverick. The cars will be at the park on the 21st around 10:30? Hope to finally meet some of you fellow Ohio owners.
See you there smegnl, I would have liked to have seen your Maverick. Try to make the cruise from Chop's Grille and Taphouse even without the Maverick. Looks like the weather is going to cooperate on Saturday.
We took a roadtrip in the Monte SS (it has working AC) up to Detroit on Thursday for the Woodward Dream Cruise. After two nights we headed to this show in Ohio on Saturday. Most Mavericks/Comets I have seen in one place in a long time. We don't get half this turnout at Carlisle PA. Next year I plan on taking the Grabber to this show, regardless of AC.
Pleased you enjoyed the meet. There were a number of 1st time attendees as-well-as some people and/or their cars that are usual attendees missing this year. Don Comfort, Ohio MCCI Rep. and Rob Smarsch, Pinto Bobcat Club once again did an outstanding job of planning and organizing the event. What you can't see in the above photo is that the line of Mavericks and Comets extends on down to the trees and then makes a left turn. Pintos and Bobcats were to the left out of view.
The Maverick Nationals will be in Gettysburg, PA next July. Better plan to attend that event. Details are still being planned and will be updated soon on the MCCI website and Facebook pages.
