Has anybody out there with Maverick V8 column shift connected the linkage to a late model 90's 5.0 engine? I did buy CJ Pony after market Z bar bracket trying to figure how to adapt this. Will be also installing Hooker headers 6110-1 long tube that work with column shift. Might have to trim bracket or bell housing , spacers to connect linkage. Appreciate any info, pics on how to go about this.

AFAIK bracket is secured in place using bellhousing bolts, a friend made one for my Comet from a 5.0 water pump rear cover. I made a pattern from cardboard and he formed the bracket. For column shift, bracket doesn't have to be as robust as clutch linkage.

Jim as Krazy said it uses the bellhousing bolts to hold it in place I helped a friend do what you need to do and we just made the bracket because when we installed the engine and tranny he was not aware the block did not have hole for bracket to bolt to and no time to wait for one on order. They quit making those headers awhile back but must have seen enough demand to start making them again or you had a set from years ago.

Another way around using column linkage with long tube headers involves using a shifter cable from a column shift Granada but it requires a little fab work on transmission shifter arm

Glad to see you on here J.T

Hey Mike, yes they don't make those headers any more for the column shift. I bought those headers used and the bracket years ago for this 91 5.0 engine swap. Today I found my old T-5 bell housing and this bracket fits perfect so compared it with my C-4 bell housing and with a little trimming and a couple of spacers for bell housing bolts should work out just fine. Fresh AFR headed engine been sitting on stand for 8 years Its about time. Thanks Mike for the info.
