I am well into my 2019 Coyote- 10 auto Speed swap into my 1971 Comet GT. Does anybody know if there is a set of aftermarket headers that w0uld fit into a 71 Comet/Maverick with an AJE K Member and their shock tower replacements? I have modified the factory 2019 exhaust manifolds to fit but want to go to a set of long tube headers. It looks like the BBK coyote swap headers for a fox-SN95 could work. I don't mind if I need to move a tube. Any suggestions would be appreciated

    Thanks

    Karl

Karl...Your in virgin territory with the Coyote swap. I would say that since the AJE setup is similar to an SN95 setup you may be on the right track with the BBK's but...Your the one blazing the trail here. There has been some talk/interest in Coyotes' in Mavs/Comets but no real input in that vein. On that note! I am sure the folks here would love to see your progress so far and will undoubtedly have something to say about it. Good luck man!!!

You get the double hiney hammer with the Coyote in a Maverick. It is not only the additional width of the Coyote but also the added height.

    Displacement Length Width Height
    302 Windsor 27.5" 18.75" 20.75"
    5.0L Coyote 26" 28" 27"

It's been done, just not sure it's been well documented.

I am thinking that a set of JBA or BBK 2019 Mustang automatic headers may be the best bet. Have taken some measurements and they just might fit. If I have to move a few tubes or slightly notch the frame rails/firewall/floor, I am fine with that. Will let you all know how it goes

Maybe one day they'll make an adapter to bolt a 10-speed behind Windsors.

Good luck with build, and kudos for keeping it Ford-powered!

Im in the process of performing the same swap. Im using a C4 trans though. I have a set of BBK headers for a SN Coyote swap. I hope they fit. Im just wondering if Probot64 has any updates. I have my towers ready to weld in and my frame ready to mount the kmember.

You going to R&P steering? Coil-over suspension? I like those modified towers -- way Ford should have did it.

Flaming River Manual R&P. The towers are from AJE as well.

A little update, the passenger side header is close to the frame rail but i think it can be clearenced to make enoguh room so it doesnt hit. For the driverside to fit I had to cut the front tube off the header. I am waiting for my steering shaft parts to come on and I will fabricate the new tube. It looks like if I route the front tube like the one on the passenger side I should be able to make it work.
