Maybe the kickdown problems we all heard about refer to the AOD trans? I have always heard that the AOD had to be adjusted right or else it ruins the tranny.

reading my instruction sheet for my hurst shifter, the first thing it says for installation is remove kickdown bracket and linkage rod and discard along with all factory linkage.....its history...nuff said...Jim(y)

    auto matic kick down...whats that....

manual shifter is much better.....then you can shift after the usual tranny shift points...makes for more power and more speed.....

Haven't had a kickdown rod on mine since 1981.
