Poll; Are you a true Mavericker? or Cometeer?

:bouncy:This is what I think it takes to be a true mavericker or Cometeer. This is opinionated so don't get your feathers ruffled. If you can say yes to at least one then you earned the title "Mavericker" or Cometeer

I told my wife before we got married that the car was here first and on the top of my priority list. She understood so I married her. Been down every road in new england with it and drove it to Texas. Had it since 1992 and probably logged 150,000 miles on it. I'd definitely drop her before the car. Does that qualify for a Mavericker? or in my case a Cometer?

Owned it for 24 years now. I am a "Mavericker" in more ways than one though. Been a non-crowd follower ever since I was about 10 years-old.....

Had mine 23 years...Also have been told by a girlfriend "you love that car more than you love me." My responce was " I had the car when I met you...I will still have it should you ever leave." (we are married now :) )

I always clarify when telling this , that in my opinion it`s not so much putting the Maverick above humans. But in every persons life there should be Something that is JUST for you in order to truly be happy. For me...Owning my car is that Something.:drive:

    Sick?...maybe.:):D

i guess i am a cometeer.... since my car isn't with me at the moment i call my friend just about every day and check up on it.... and i have diffentily gone with out for my car..... but my kids and wife come first.... that would explain why i don't have my car running yet.... even though my wife gave me most of her tax return money to send to my friend/ mechanic to finish it up... she loves me and she likes my comet too.... yup she's a keeper....

I can relate to most of you guys. I had my 1st Maverick when I started dating my wife. She has told her friends many times, "he'd get rid of me before he'd get rid of that Maverick"...so she knows! And yep, I still have it...and her 32 years later. (Along with 6 more Mavericks) :)

    I think I qualify :)

Well, a Comet was the first car I ever rode in. Stated helping my dad with the car when I was about 5, bringing him whatever tools he needed and painting stuff. That car of course went on to be in Popular Hotrodding. Now I've got 5 of them and working towards the 6th one. :)

My first car was a mav, met my wife in a mav, made my son in a mav, I really don`t think of any of this as being strange is it? Or just good timing

Mine has been in the family since 79 and i've owned it since 95. I drove it while I was in college and I met my wife while driving the car. I told her that if we ever got into a serious financial situation that I would sell the car........She told me that she would NEVER let me sell Granny's car!!(y)
