    drop in tank

i have a 69.5. i put a 65 stang tank in it. it was wider and shorter. i cut a slot in trunk where right side of tank goes. now you can slide tank in(about 8in. overhangs without any support). i filled the gap it left in front with a peice of flat alu. with holes drilled around the boarder to match the stock holes in trunk and tank. bolted it all in, put sealer at all cracks, extended the fuel hose and sender wire. done deal, works like a charm and i have larger capasity.

I'd have to check, but it seems to me that you could just cut down a later fill tube to fit. I'm pretty sure they are the same where they go through the rear panel and turn down towards the tank. The later ones shouldn't be hard to find; I've got a few extras myself.

    Tim,
If you are wanting a tank, I think I know where one is--I'd have to back and check again since I was not looking for one, but will look for you if you want since I plan to go this weekend or next week. Pm me or contact me since I live up the road from ya!

Due to the economy I had to take a break but I found a fuel cell, however, thanks to all who tried to help. Now that I am back in the shop, I have another pertinent question, I have a 1995 302(5.0) from a F-150 truck engine. I need a flywheel and a balancer as the car vibrates when cranked. Would any other than the 1995 F-150 work. What,if any would convert. Would these parts from a Mustang work? Anyone with any ideas feel free to contact me !
