how much do you have in your maverick or comet

My dad will complain at how much money I put in my car. I have roughly $2500 in it right now. To get it where I want it will probaly be another $2500 or so.

 

my 73 comet is all ready at 6500.00 and only half way there

 

Right now I am wanting to make a nice driver and when I finish school and have some real money I want to build an afr headed 347 and swap in. A maverick that runs low 7's in the 1/8 on pump gas is my dream car

Way too much for a sane person...about $20k now and it still needs backhalved and caged.

 

with the price of NOS parts i will be way over 25,000 in my sprint and it is all stock

 

if i thought about it too much, i'd probably cry.....lol


just what is listed is over $6K in parts not counting all of those "small things" here and there

I have about $1700 in mine. This includes Grabber hood, small bumper swap, sport mirrors, rebuilt transmission, disc brake swap, rebuilt front end and replacing a bunch of small parts. This also includes the $250 I paid for the car. I still need to buy paint.

 

I just crossed over the $6k mark, but spent a bit this last month, so maybe $6500

 

I have no idea what I have in my '72. Probably around 2500 or so as a high estimate. I originally gave $100 for it back in December of 2005 when it looked like this. It was another member here's parts car at that point. 4 years, two engines, and 92,000 miles later it looks more like this. It's made up of junkyard parts from at least 40 different cars, several different make and models. I miss driving it daily like crazy, it needs ball joints and an alignment badly, and I just don't have the time or money to mess with it right now.

You nailed it. That applies to most of our cars on here.

I would guess from purchase price to stripping it and getting paint on it and all new rubbers around 6800(cash to our body shop guys and my labor kept price way down,paint/primer and supplies donated by co-auto) plus all the other stuff,tires,disc brakes,tie rods,heater bezel nos,steering wheel factory,heater core,fuel pump,carb rebuild,antenna factory,hood hinges nos, horns,window cranks, ignition module, filters, all hoses, belt, speedo gear, I'm sure I'm forgetting a bunch of stuff.
Guessing around 8300+ mark. Oops forgot the stripe. 8400.
