I'm posting as anonymous. I was able to take these pics without Bryant knowing so nobody tell him it was me . . .
ya its just 54 inches long and dont have a box that long to ship it in. its still out if want just drop by the shop and check it out.
i had a cardboard one that we started with when whe made it. its really simple. it just took about 10 grand in equipment and tools to make it that nice.
[QUOTE it just took about 10 grand in equipment and tools to make it that nice.[/QUOTE] is that all? what would you charge for a detailed blueprint? a local steel fab shop quoted me 125 for basic aluminum dash with a 90 deg bend for the face and top and about a 60 deg bend with about an inch over hang on the bottom.i was wondering what to do about the end peices but i noticed yours are attached and bent over,do you think they could be made to bolt on?
i simply am not able to do a blue print. the folds were done on a sheetmetal brake that had an attachement to have the round edge instead of a hard edge. the top angle was around 60 degrees and the bottom one was around 120. the ends are welded on and the welds were sanded smooth. the dash attaches to the cage with dzus fasteners so that is a one off custom way of attachement. the front face anlge was determined by me siting in the car with some welding rod bending it so the face will point right at my face. the one thing that we didnt account for on it is the window cranks. on the drivers side the window crank just clears the dash. i have a different handle on the passenger side and it doesnt clear. when i was figuring out what i wanted todo for a dash i found out that there are fiber glass dashes for most years of mustangs and they all are the same with as the mavericks, i just didnt want to spend the money they want for those and the shiping it would have cost. so if your looking to something custom you can get a dash out of a mustang and make it fit.
no worries man,i dont need anything fancy i just like the idea of a nice aluminium dash.you do a have a very nice dash.
