flexplate question

Im getting ready to put my engine and trans back into the car but i realized that i don't know how to position my flexplate because of the weight on it . Can anyone tell me how to position it?

 

It will only go on one way, weight will be toward the engine

 

I know that but was wondering if it mattered what position it should be at according to top dead center or is the weight just balancing the flexplate and it doesn't matter how its positioned

 

It will only bolt to the crank one way. If you turn it in any direction the holes will not line up.

Thanks for the help but i guess it helps to have the right flexplate i think the one i have is for a c6 its to large for my c4 so if anyone has one that they would like to sell let me know thanks.

 

There are 2 different size flexplates for the c4. Check this thread out.
