Depends on what is causing the squeak. Usually it's in the control arms or balljoints. Lube the balljoints and check to see if your upper control arm bushing have ever been lubed. Most of the time you'll find that there have been holes cut in the shock towers with a torch and fittings added. The spring seats were squeaking on my car once and I just replaced them. That was years ago but I think the seats were about $30.00 each. But start thinking about a frt end rebuild if it's not been done. Kits are affordable and you can do it yourself if you have the tools. You'll just need to find a good alignment shop....and by good I mean one that will actually take the time to properly align the frt end. You may even have to pay extra to have it done right. Don't go to a cheap tire store with a coupon expecting a good alignment....most of the time all they do is a toe setting.
Most times the squeak is in the spring perches. You can spray the rubber bushings with WD/40 or? But best is to replace them. Good Luck!
9 chances out of 10 it's your upper control arm bushings. Can't grease them with an ordinary grease gun. The fitting is located in the wheel well and there' not enough room to get the grease gun on the fitting. AutoKrafters sells a great kit that'll let you change the fittings out to 90 degrees. Please don't do like others and cut a hole in the shock tower. http://www.autokrafters.com/v4/go.gnf?session=cd69b9b8aeed0ee7a4e35becf68a2064&s=autokrafters&t=&d=products&keywords=upper%20control%20arm&makeId=54&modelId=687&yearId=1973&&ACESSearch=&product=30811
