How cold is your AC?

    hey. 71 mav 250 with factory AC. Tried the a/c yesterday and the air coming out felt cool, but how cold should it be? Should it be as cold as a newer car's a/c? cuz it's nowhere near that....

    Three 71 Maverick Grabbers, a 72 302 Sprint, a 73 LDO 2door parts car, a 76 silver v8 Stallion.
    It should be at least as cold, especially if you still have r-12 in it. It may need a recharge. Hopefully it's not too bad of a leak.

    i had never used mine before and the sat for at least 10 years that I know of before I got it.

    Mine is really cold! It is aftermarket hang on air, and has a vent in a bad place beneath the column.......gets cold there!

    Mine's quite cold. I have an aftermarket condenser with a fan on it though, and insulated lines.

    I went all through my air on my Aspen last yr. New hoses,seal kit in the compressor, checked all fittings for leaks and this year it still has 20 degree air out the vents and didn't need a charge after winter. I am soo happy cuz it wasn't cheap! Good Luck!!

    well i feel dumb. the reason my a/c isn't cold is because nothing is hooked up under the hood lol. Doesn't even look like anything's there. I guess that answers my curiosity haha. wow.
