I know these are mainly to stiffen up the chassis/frame of the car but do you guys suggest these even for a weekend car with an i6 in it? If so, anyone have a link of where they may sell them for me to purchase?
4 cyl honda guys install them on their Daily Drivers. I don't see why it would hurt in your case http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=66160
It will stiffen the ride. If you are not going to drag race the car, they are a waste of money in my opinion.
on a totally stock car they just make it ride rougher.....now add some kyb shocks, bigger sway bars, some bigger tires and rims, etc....then yes it will feel better with bars.....it is just stuff working in conert.....if you stiffen it up fvrt and back it makes sense to do the middle......
Slightly off topic, I have a set of the Starnes connectors that I have not installed yet. Can I weld those in without melting the carpet ? Or do I need to remove the carpey prior ? I do not have the instructions anymore and can not seem to remember the actual welding points. Thanks All, Scott
Scotty, I suggest you weld them in with carpet out. And you just grind the ends to match your subframes the best, then put a bead around the entire sf connector. If you work around you wont get the floor so hot in one area. Car needs to be on its wheels to install them, like on a lift that you drive on. And back on topic, I dont think a stock 6 banger needs them. Just my opinion.
Yeah, guess you would need all those pieces to get full effect from the bars. I have all that and didn't take it into account. Sorry Craig!
I'm putting in some eventually, but right now I'm focused on tightening up the front end (entirely new components/disk brake swap) and I just finished the rear end. I've got KYB Gas-Adjust shocks all the way around, and I'm putting on a bigger front sway bar, and a rear sway bar. I'd say your money is probably better spent elsewhere at this point though. Disclaimer-I am nothing remotely resembling an expert.
A six is faster than an 8. Around corners and on windy roads that is. It's lighter. Stiffen that sucka up!!
this is true accept I think it'd need the suspension stuff like subframes/sway bars/tubular a-arms more so then a v8 due to how the weight of the i6 overhangs in the bay compared to a v8..
