here is a nice photo shop chop I found on the internet... sorry I dont know who made it...author unknown
wow look away for a second and you get 2 pages of comments! yea, i will take pictures. as far as if it is a chop top or a laid back windshield, i don't know but i an sure going to be the only guy in town with this kind of mod! i will post pictures of the 20 year old chop (window lay back) when we get a hold of a good scanner! (digital cameras were .................. hard to come bye 20 years ago) thank you
Use the Macro feature on a digital camera and take pics of the pictures that's what i do! no need for a scanner!
if you just lay the windows down you will have problem at the base of the windshield. it will pic up out of the frame.
I can see the backglass staying the same....just cut out from around it and then put it back . The windsheild is a different story. If you just lay it back as described, the the top will have to be stretched or moved forward to align with the windsheild pillars. You have to remember, when the top is chopped on a car with slanted pillars, the top gets shorter and narrower the more the chop. No big deal on a car with straight posts like a Model A, you simply cut, drop , and reweld, no stretching needed, maybe a little work on the post to align them. A car with slanted pillars is a whole 'nother story. It has been done by a lot of excellent bodymen, but not a job for a first timer.
ok now that i see it it doesnt look that bad kind of like it makes the coupe maverick have a slope that looks like the 69 -70 mustang fastbacks
Heck since most people dont know what our cars look like anymore anyways, you could just tell people that you chopped and channeled the car 3" and most people would be none the wiser.
This is the only part that makes me shudder. If it will be flat glass do it like the factory and have them make it out of tempered glass. If you ever have to break a window to get out you will kick your own butt for using laminated glass. The way he describes doing this shouldn't affect the glass sealing. He's talking about moving the winshield by altering the cowl not the winshield frame.
