    I can remember 3 in my town over the years. The one that is still around has a 428CJ and it is baaadddd! I haven't seen it lately though. It used to street race and I saw it dust a 427 Corvette once.

    Because it's gross!!
    I could see it on a 60's car, they did that in the 60's, but in the 70's...only if they were putting some huge motor in a racecar Mav, but there is a way better way to do it now, plus it doesn't look so gross!!

    69.5 Maverick 2-dr. (Grabber clone) 1970 Maverick 2-dr.
    To build a "Gasser" style Maverick/Comet, of course.

    Obviously there are other ways of "fitting a bigger motor", but that would defeat the purpose of building an old school Gasser style car.

    and of course, if someone thought the straight axel looked "gross", they wouldn't be building a Gasser style car to begin with, would they?

    wow! I am toying w/the idea...of course, if i go w/a straight axle...i would have to have a fuel keg sittin up front...
