I tink I'm going to paint the top half satin black and the bottom half ivy gold...like olive green. I think I'm going to get rid of the vinyl top.

I am trying to figure out my paint scheme. I would like to use the satin black and grabber blue together, using the same scheme as the Comet in the latest Modified Mustangs and Ford issue. I think that looked great. If money were no object though, I would paint it dark toreodor red (maroon) with silver ghost flames.(y)

I really like the Lime Green as well as Black .... but gotta say my color combo looks the best for a show car ... :)

And I will agree with that 100%. Red will just about always draw a bigger crowd. I noticed the difference when I used to bring my sons red grabber to the shows before I got my blue car finished. I got way more attention and thumbs ups than I do now. I was actually a little disappointed when I first brought my blue car out. I mean it gets it's share of attention but nothing like the red one did. Same thing when Dan and I had our cars in the same show. We often parked together. His car drew more attention. You gotta jump out and grab them to bring them on for a closer look and Dans car will do it just as most red ones will.

    Bingo! (y)

It's called waterborne paint. And it's just the base coat that's reduced with water. It's pretty cool. The clear coat is still the same stuff which is where it counts anyway.

    Paint

Among factory colors, I like code 6E Medium Bright Yellow (my 73 is that color), code 9D White (my 71), code 3E Medium Bright Blue Metallic, Code 5J Ginger Glow ( I had a 74 LDO that color and saved all the body panels), code 5Q Dark Brown Metallic, Code 6U Tan (only available on 77's I think), and of course Black looks good on any car. I do not like any of the greens offered back then. I'm not real fond of Grabber Blue either, although my 71 4dr is that color (it's a tu-tone with a white roof). I've never been fond of Pastel colors either.

Sorry to revive an old one...but I ran across this one today and just had to say, it just don't get any better than Grabber Green. I wish my car didn't have blue interior...it would be Grabber Green! :D
