Heater Controls

I'm trying to to remove the heater control knobs but they won't budge and I don't want to break them. I actually used pliers to get behind them to push them off to no avail. I thought they would just pop off...Any tricks?

 

Guess you're just gonna have to pull a little harder. They are only pressed on.

Yep....you just have to pull harder. Unless somebody super glued them on.

Well I got them off but had to get primitive. I literally had get behind them with an adjustable wrench (wrapped w/elec tape) to pry them from behind. Once they gave way it's a miracle I didn't put my eye out. I did manage to find them once they landed. It's amazing what one has to go through only to get to the last screw to remove the dash pad. I still need to remove the light switch but I can only take small doses of frustration at a time. There's just no access anywhere...

 

that's just the opposite of ours. You move the switch, and the knobs fall off. Actually, I just keep them at the house now. got tired of chasing them on the floor.

I'm sure they've never been off before and they'll be the last to go back on.

 

Just remember where you put them.

 

If you lose them dont sweat it I have a bunch of them saved up

Heater Control Knobs

I used a "booger picker" with a 180 degree point and pushed the small metal tab toward me and they come off easily.
