Thanks guys for the input. I feel much better. And a side note i have never even put water in it yet. Still as someone said like a crate motor. Thanks again.

Like most everyone else said with Marvel or ATF! It will keep the rings from scuffing on the initial startup, and only"scoop" could like the smell of burning Marvel! Only kidding! I love the smell of burn't gunpowder! I'm sure all of us have a favorite "burn't smell!:biglaugh:

Yup and Yup!!! Love the smell of both!

Mystery oil has a nice sweet smell to it. Lets you know things are happening in those cylinders that wouldn't normally be happening.

Yeah, the Marvel Mystery oil would be a better choice than the WD-40 that I suggested earlier but, the WD-40 would do just fine just before start-up.

before i bought my car from my grandfather it had sat out in the weather for 22 years without being touched. Obviously we used a fuel container instead of the gas tank and it fired right up and ran fine.

Well i fired it up today with no issues. I don't have mufflers on yet, just straight headers. It sounds really good can't wait to get the tranny in and take her for a drive.

Open headers sound good, though, Don't they? Any cam in there to make a little lope?

Mine ran like crap with dumps, but sounded AWESOME!!! I didn't tune the carb for the dumps, just for the road, and when I opened the dumps at the track, it spit and sputtered and lost .3 on the 1/8th mile.

    But sounded really nice!!!

I installed a b303 cam. The heads are e7 with exhaust humps removed. Yeah, straight headers are good but i can't wait to get the flowmasters on so i can really hear that cam.

    Exactly What I did Today

Filled all the fluids, put on new plug wires, hooked up ground to motor, and put in newly charged Battery. Fired up like a champ put it in gear and NOTHING not 1 inch. went and got 2 more quarts of Tranny fluid and brought it up to level.(Forgot about the Torque Converter sucking it dry) got a small burn out and then NOTHING again. looks like tranny work ahead. But she sounds like a beast!

Good on the motor, bad deal on the tranny. Sorry to hear that.
