I just acquired a skinny front bumper for my 1973 Maverick. I am confused by one thing. It appears to be the right bumper. But it is three pieces. The ends are separate. It also has two bumperetes coming off the bottom of the bumper. Can anyone identify it by my description?
Ummmmmm the bumper is all one piece? There is no right or left bumper. Unless you mean the bumper guards...
The bumper guards are under the bumper like an early Mustang. The ends bolt on and wrap around. The total width is wider than a Maverick bumper. The main section is identical to a Maverick bumper from headlight to headlight.
Maybe a Picture would help? It kinda sounds like its one of these weird bumpers that are seen on Venezuelan/Mexican models.
Similar to this? but with a skinny bumper. I cant find the picture of the mexican one i had...it wraps around the bumper like you mention.
WOW That would be really interesting to see. You said you just aquired it. Where did you aquire it from? and yes, yes ,yes I agree a picture would be a super big help.
Skinny bumper I'm not too confident about posting pictures. This was my first attempt. The bumper is really mint. I haven't even cleaned off the clear tape from shipping.
It looks like something is meant to bolt to the bottom of the sides that wrap around. It's not a Maverick bumper, atleast not a US Maverick bumper. Do you have bumper brackets on the car for a small bumper and does it line up?
I know it is not a Maverick bumper. It is too wide. The shape, width and location of the bumperetts, make me wonder if it is something for an early Mustang. No I still am set up for the 1973 bumper. The main section is identical in shape to my Maverick bumper. When you add the ends, it becomes too wide.
Skinny bumper I started looking at pictures of Chevrolets on E-Bay, because they had three piece bumpers. It is the top section of the front bumper on a 1965 Chevrolet Impala. I apologize for using the C word.
