In the ongoing attempt by the MCG and its host of the 2011 GATHERING, with cost of fuel and the economic state of our country, we are able and proud to announce that in addition to the current schedule, on the "show day" (Saturday) the afternoon meal will be donated by the Somerset Tourist Commission. So in addition to a free meal Wednesday and Thursday evening, add Saturdays meal on to the "FREE LIST". This is just another way the MCG shows it has its members/attendees in mine when planning this event.
    *72 days to go!

    free food!!! is FREE FOOD!
if you include the FREE breakfast with your hotel, the only dinner you will have to pay for is Thursday night.....thats FREE FOOD!!!!!! Wednesday FREE. Friday FREE. Saturday FREE!!!!!
    THATS A LOW PRICE!!!!!!!
all this is done in hopes that if anyone is on the bubble $$$ on making the trip, alot of FREE meals might really help with and fun low cost (some FREE) activites as well!!!
Just another way the MCG thinks about its members and participants.

I have been to hundreds of car-related shows and events over the years, and no one else in my household had the slightest interest in going to any of them. However, both kids look forward to the Gathering all year long. Obviously, it has nothing to do with the cars. It is truly a unique, family-centered event.

Prior to Gathering #2, I was contacted by an MCG member, who I did not know, to see if I was interested in meeting up on my way down to Joplin. I rolled into Joplin, knowing only Mark for about 2 hours and left a few days later with some of the best friends I have ever known.:Handshake

I was working in my garage one Wednesday evening back in June of 08 when a buddy of mine called and said he had seen a bunch of mavericks in the hotel parking lot so my son and I jumped in our mav and ran up to the hotel, didnt leave till 2am on a school and work night, my family has been into auto related fun our entire lives, street rods, show cars, race cars, motorcycles street and race and dirt and I've only ever joined one (club), for the past three years our family vacation is with the MCG group, even our 16 year old daughter cant wait, I'm truly thankful for my MCG friends.

Effie and I went to Owensboro our first time just to see what was going on. we didn't take Patches, rode up in my new truck.
everyone we met was like we had known them for years..."like family".
been going to both meets from then on. seems like Patches makes it every other trip....
we plan the...next years trip...on the way home...:thumbs2:
