So my step-son has passed on a motor he built for his mustang. The 'stang was totaled when someone cut him off, causing him to hit the concrete, spin around, and hit the back end, too. . The motor was stored for a while, but he decided he's not going to use it. He joined the Army, and is a little busy now. Now, after changing from a 200 to a 250 last year, we have a whole new project. Its a 351W, bored .30 over with a crane cam. It has headers, and Holley 750 I think. There's a transmission with it, but he said the one we have, that was rebuilt less than a year ago is ok. Daughter wants to paint the engine compartment black while everything is out, and I need to remove whats left of the AC stuff that we don't use anyway. What about the suspension? ( Its original) When we made the other swap, we had to change the engine mounts, so I'm assuming they're good for this motor? Oh, it also comes with all the "bling" he said, and an engine hoist. Sounds good to me. Any thoughts? Rhonda
Everything you want to know is in here: http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=75870 351w swap is a big job, but if you can read through my posts on that thread and you don't see anything that scares you, you can and should do it!
She has to convince her other brother to help us We certainly can't do it without his help. I can't wait to see it in the Mav. Rhonda
If it does look like too much, I'm sure you would have no problem at all swapping someone for a good healthy 302.
