in my Mav, I just removed a...160...and replaced it with an...86C...(makes heater more better...:yup:

the 160 carried a...160-163 temp range.
the 86C carries a...188-192 temp range.

    ...:yup:...

    Here is my .02

    I swapped from a 187 to a 160 in my lsx I didn't change the tune

    Before. 20mpg. 187-195* operating temp
After. 14.5 mpg. 165-170* operating temp

Just throwing it out there this was around a half point in the afr differance at cruise

If you gain power going cooler you need to work on your tuneup

Hot fluids (oils) make more power (less drag)
    Hot fuel makes less power
    Cool coolant fights detonation
Up to temp coolant provides effeciancy

and after my cars real hot from running the guts out of it i always blow hot air on the radiator because i want to have increased bearing life. I always see my friends do that too after they run cars hard especially at night when the tracks coooled off you just can't have enough heat in an engine:thumbs2:

I also like having heating pads under my air gap manifold to help with the horsepower and I wrap my headers so the heat will stay in my engine I also run a griffin 3 row radiator because i like very hot engines it helps horsepower and I run a high volume water pump so my engine runs as hot as possible and i run a spacer block under my carb because i love hot fuel my car does too because everyone knows heat makes horsepower:rofl: I also run a electric fan too so my car stays as hot as possible
