i just watched a special on him about a month back where he was driving the 2013 gt500, and he was talkin about all his future car builds..really sad to hear hes gone, i would have liked to see what else he had up his sleeve
Maverick 75 brought up a good point about wanting to have his car signed by Carroll Shelby. Yellow 75 said he has a signature, (not sure if it's on the car or not?) I had my car signed. Did any other " Shelbyized" mavericks or comets have their ride signed?
Author Matt Hardigree should be taken out into the street and beaten to death for that article. Pathetic son of a bitch. Some people just can't help themselves I suppose. When the true greats of American performance cars are listed Carroll Shelby will be at the very top of anyone's list. I am honored to have met the man, shake his hand and been able to make him laugh with stories of racing & winning with a rented Mustang GT-H. There will never be another like Shelby in the world of performance/racing......and we are all poorer for his passing.
RIP Carroll Shelby Mr Shelby passed away in Dallas Texas Yesterday, at age 89. RIP Mr. Shelby. Thank you for all you did for us gear heads.
I didn't find it disrespectful, it showed that he was down to earth. As you know most top race car drivers(excluding drag racers) come from wealthy families who can buy them their first race car. But Shelby was a guy from Texas taking all of them down. Self made, like the American dream.
